Fuel Economy - What do you get out of a tank? (3rd gens only)

Ok guys


i get really fuel economy on my tj VRX...worse then my previous V6 Commodre

i put $25 in and it gets me under 100kms..this is normal driving, what can be done as this seems ridiculous!

how big is the tank in these things?

my old vs had a 55ltr tank was $60 to fill and i got around 450kms to a tank

You can't use dollars to guage how much petrol your car uses. $25 @ $1.4/L gives 17.8 litres and $25 @ $1.2/L gives 20.8 litres. Fill your tank to the first click, note the odo reading, then drive for a week and note the odo reading again, and then fill up to the first click and see how many litres it drank and not how much it cost you dollars wise to the first click.

Your TJ should have a 71L tank and I am pretty sure the VS had a bigger tank than 55L, like 73L.

VS V6 had a 59L tank, the V8 had a 73L.

Saffire VRX, fill your tank completely, drive 100km, then refill your tank and see how many litres it takes. or reset your trip computer after filling and see what it indicates your fuel consumption is.
